Virginia Bluebells or Mertensia virginica is a perennial and a native wildflower with pink buds opening to true blue pendulous bells, all hanging from unique blue-green foliage. This plant is excellent for the shady edges of ponds, streams, swamps, and bogs. Plant them with other moisture-loving shade plants.
