Virginia Bluebells or Mertensia virginica is a perennial and a native wildflower with pink buds opening to true blue pendulous bells, all hanging from unique blue-green foliage. This plant is excellent for the shady edges of ponds, streams, swamps, and bogs. Plant them with other moisture-loving shade plants. This plant blooms in the spring and is also winter hardy and deer resistant. Hardiness zones 3-8. You get 3 bare-roots in your order. This is a pre-order and will be available at the end of September.

Planting:  Plant in moist soil in shade to partial sun. Keep the roots cool by mulching. These flowers do best when planted 1 inch deep and a minimum of 12-18 inches apart.
