Crimson Red Rhubarb

Crimson Red Rhubarb produces plump solid crimson red stalks setting this rhubarb apart for being one of the most flavorful on the market. This variety has a sweet, tart flavor.  The extra-large root establishes quickly. The stalks grow 24-48 inches tall. The plant is deer resistant, winter hardy, and GMO-Free. Hardiness zones 2-8. Receive 1 crown root. This is a preorder and will be available in late March.

Planting Instructions: Plant in well-drained soil in full sun. Plant the root 3-4 inches below the soil surface. Plant in early spring or fall.  Do not harvest rhubarb the year you plant your crown, remove any seed stalks that appear as they reduce the vigor of the plant. A light harvest may be taken the second year and by the third season all stalks that are 1-inch in diameter or larger may be harvested over a 6-8 week period
