Allium Gladiator has a single stem with basal foliage that supports a round cluster of purple flowers. This flower blooms in early summer. Alliums are deer resistant and easy to grow in well-drained soil from full sun to partial shade. They are grown for their ornamental value in the landscape and make a wonderful cut or dried flowers. Planting: For best flowering, plant in the fall in full or in a mostly sunny location. Larger Allium varieties do best planted 7-8 inches deep. Plant the bulbs 6-8 inches apart in well-drained soil.
